About the game
Mahjong Solitaire is the classic single-player matching puzzle played with the centuries-old tile set. From 144 tiles stacked in layers you pick two identical free tiles, and the pair lights up and leaves the board. A tile is free when nothing lies on top of it and its left or right side is open. Dots, bamboos, characters, winds and dragons match their exact twin, while the four flowers and four seasons match any tile in their own group. Every tile is drawn in the browser, so numbers and symbols stay sharp and easy to read even on a small phone screen. There are 11 layouts: Starter, Gate, Dragon, Pyramid, Fortress, Star, Tower, Arena, Bridge, Crown and the legendary Turtle. Clear a board and, after a quick celebration, the next level starts on its own; layouts get denser, stacks grow taller and from level 5 the clock starts ticking. Fast back-to-back matches build a combo multiplier up to x6, and a combo of three or more adds 2 seconds to the timer. Every deal is generated by reverse placement, so there is never an unsolvable board, but playing pairs in the wrong order can still leave you stuck. Then use a shuffle, a hint or undo. Your shuffle and hint stock carries over from level to level. Solve the daily puzzle that is the same for everyone each day to grow your streak, and unlock the Cobalt, Ember, Obsidian, Gold and Neon tile styles as you level up.
How to play
- Tap a free tile: nothing on top and an open left or right side.
- Pick its twin and the pair clears. Flowers and seasons match within their own group.
- Match fast: the combo multiplier grows and, from level 5, adds seconds to the clock.
- Stuck? Use a hint, undo or shuffle; when no moves are left the game offers a shuffle.
- Clear the board and the next layout starts by itself. Open the daily puzzle and tile styles from the menu.

FAQ
Which tiles are free in Mahjong Solitaire?
A tile is free when no tile lies on top of it and at least its left or right side is open. Blocked tiles look slightly darker.
Is every board solvable?
Yes. Tiles are dealt by reverse placement, so every deal has at least one solution. If you get stuck, a shuffle re-deals the remaining tiles so they are solvable again.
What is the daily puzzle?
An untimed board that is the same for everyone each day. Solve it on consecutive days to grow your streak; open it from the menu.
