About the game
Math Balloons is a colorful learning game that helps children aged 5 to 9 practice their arithmetic while having fun. A question appears on the card at the top of the screen, and balloons with numbers on them start rising from below. Work out the answer and tap the right balloon to pop it in a burst of confetti and earn ten points. Tap a wrong balloon, or let the right one float away, and you lose a heart; when all three hearts are gone the game is over. The first questions are very easy, like adding numbers up to five, then the game moves on to addition and subtraction up to ten and twenty. A little later, times-table questions join in. As the level goes up the balloons rise faster and there are more choices, which builds both focus and quick thinking. Keyboard players can type the answer with the number keys and press Enter. It makes a great short math break in class, between homework tasks or on a trip. Free, no download needed, and playable on phone, tablet and computer.
