Grow your light snake in a cyber arena, cut off BOT snakes and grab the energy of every rival you shatter!
About the game
Neon Snake.io is a fast, ruthless .io snake game set in a dark cyber arena with a holographic grid floor. You start as a short light snake; every glowing energy cell you collect adds armor plates, stretches your body and pushes you up the live leaderboard. More than twenty BOT snakes roam the arena with you: some only harvest energy, some play it safe, and the aggressive ones hunt you down to cut you off. The rule is simple: if your head touches another body or the crackling energy wall, your system goes down. The same rule applies to your rivals, so slip in front of a BOT at the right moment and it slams into your body, shatters into glowing shards and all of its energy is yours. Back-to-back takedowns trigger double and triple elimination bonuses. Boosting leaves a spark trail but burns length. Switch on HARDCORE mode for a tougher fight with more and angrier BOTs, a faster pace and bigger elimination points. Growing longer unlocks neon skins such as Plasma, Cryo, Shadow Protocol and Quasar. Your best score is saved, and it is free to play on phone, tablet and computer with no download.
How to play
- Point the mouse or your finger where you want your snake to go.
- Collect the glowing energy cells; the longer you get, the higher you climb.
- Hold to boost (lightning button on touch), but it costs some length.
- Cut in front of BOT snakes so they hit your body: elimination bonus and all their shards.
- Never touch another body or the energy wall with your head; try HARDCORE mode for a tougher fight.
Controls
Touch: hold your finger in the direction you want to go, hold the lightning button bottom-right to boost, use the bottom-left buttons to change skin and mode (Normal/HARDCORE). Keyboard and mouse: steer with the mouse, hold the click or Space/Shift to boost; turn with the arrow keys or A/D, change skin with C and mode with H. P: pause.
FAQ
Are the rivals real players?
No. All rivals in the arena are computer-controlled BOT snakes with a BOT tag in front of their names; there is no online chat and no real players.
What does HARDCORE mode change?
In HARDCORE mode there are more BOTs, most of them play aggressively and start hunting you sooner, and the pace is faster; in return every elimination is worth 75 points instead of 50.
What happened to my old Worm Arena record?
The game got a new name and look, but your record, best length and unlocked skins stay saved in the same browser. New skins unlock when your best length reaches 100, 250, 500, 1000, 1500, 2500 and 4000.
