About the game
Backgammon, known in Turkey as tavla, is one of the world's great strategy games, and here it is played on a premium board with a dark wenge wood frame, green leather playing fields and gold inlay. The standard rules are complete: each player has 15 checkers, you roll two dice, doubles are played four times, and landing on a lone blot sends your opponent's checker to the bar, where it must re-enter before any other move. You must use both dice whenever possible, and if only one can be played the larger one is used; once all your checkers are home you start bearing off. Against the computer, Easy is relaxed for learning, while Hard weighs pip count, blots, made points and hitting chances. You can also play a friend on the same device. Online, Play with a friend creates a five-character room code and an invite link so your friend can join from another phone or another city, and Find a world opponent matches you at random with someone who wants a game right now. In online matches the room creator's device rolls all dice and shares them with both screens, every turn has a 60-second clock, whose turn it is shows your rival's nickname, and a rematch starts when both players ask for it. There is no chat, only quick reactions. Matches go to 3 or 5 points (3 online), and a gammon scores 2. Grow your win streak to unlock Silver, Emerald, Gold and Crimson checkers.
How to play
- Pick a mode: Vs computer, 2 players on this device, Play with a friend (room code / invite link) or Find a world opponent. Against the computer or on one device, choose the level, match length and checkers, then press Start.
- Roll the dice. Checkers move by the numbers shown; doubles are played four times.
- Tap a glowing checker, then a green target (or drag it). Hitting a blot sends it to the bar; if you have a checker on the bar it must enter first.
- Bear off once all your checkers are home. End the turn with Done; online you have 60 seconds per turn.
- Finish before your opponent bears off any checker for a gammon (2 points). After an online match you can press Rematch.
